Course Summary:
This online assessment module examines the topics covered in the Physics Essentials micro-credential set including measurement, motion, forces and mechanics, atomic and nuclear physics, properties of matter, heat and thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism and electromagnetism, waves, and optics. You will learn the basic concepts in physics and how to apply the principles of physics to solve problems of a physical nature in everyday life. This micro-credential assumes an intermediate level of mathematical knowledge.
Students who successfully complete the CQUniversity School of Access Education's Physics Essentials set of 6 micro-credentials, may receive a unit exemption from the equivalent CL03 Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) unit with CQUniversity.
To be eligible for this exemption, students must have completed:
- PDC116776 Maths in Physics Applications
- PDC116777 Mechanics - Motion, Forces and Energy
- PDC116778 Matter, Nuclear and Thermodynamics
- PDC116779 Electricity and Magnetism
- PDC116780 Physics Essentials - Elective Module
- PDC116781 Assessment Module - Physics Essentials
This online micro-credential provides a creditable micro-credential and digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.
