Micro-credential Summary:

In this micro-credential, you will be introduced to methods and techniques used to create traditional oil paintings. Visual Art: Traditional Painting Techniques offers step-by-step instructions to support your creation of a painting that is developed using established techniques. Learning resources take the form of downloadable video tutorials and related written instructional materials. Note: Painting materials are not supplied.

Completion of this online micro-credential provides a digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

Learning Outcomes:  

  1. Use and adapt a creative process that incorporates design concepts and imprimatura painting techniques to produce at least one painting
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the processes required to create a traditional oil painting.

Duration:  18 hours

Intakes:  Enrolments are taken throughout the year on a continuous basis. 

There are no specific entry requirements to enrol in this micro-credential, however, it is designed for anyone wishing to understand the safe use of beach mobility equipment.

You do not have to be a CQUniversity student to undertake this micro-credential.

Outcomes: Skills and knowledge used to create paintings that may be exhibited in a range of professional exhibition contexts.

Career opportunities and occupations: This micro-credential is designed to support beginner and emerging artists alike. Skills and knowledge attained in this micro-credential may be used to support the development of a career as a fine artist.

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the micro-credential, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge) and a Certificate of Completion.
