Micro-credential Summary:

This online micro-credential will give you a nuanced understanding of how perpetrators of domestic and family violence establish and maintain their abusive tactics.  You will learn to recognise how expressions of gender inequality are a driver of violence. This micro-credential will help you understand the dynamics of violence, how individual incidents form part of a pattern of violence and what constitutes coercive control.  This micro-credential aligns with a knowledge component required of facilitators (at all levels) and Victim Advocates to help them comply with the requirements of Queensland’s Department of Justice and Attorney-General for funded perpetrator intervention services.

This is a non-creditable micro-credential which is awarded a digital badge and Certificate of Completion which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Recognise the drivers, dynamics and impacts of domestic and family violence, with a focus on intimate partner abuse
  2. Identify patterns of violent behaviour in order to assess and intervene appropriately with perpetrators of domestic and family violence
  3. Recognise the roles in the behaviour change process for perpetrators of domestic and family violence.

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the micro-credential, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge) and a Certificate of Completion.
