This module contains the assessment items required for completion of the suite of 9 *micro-credentials. Students can only gain access to this module upon completion of courses 1 - 8 of the micro-credential suite. This module is only applicable for students seeking a credit transfer for the unit SKIL40025 Preparation Skills for University, in the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 at CQUniversity.
Summary:
Independence, self-motivation and confidence are essential skills for university. This module will explore a range of theories and concepts to facilitate the development of practical skills and positive attitudes necessary for success in higher education. It will provide opportunities for critical self-reflection on key aspects of student life, including individual learning preferences and study habits; time management and goal-setting; individual study and career paths; noteĀtaking and assessment strategies. It will require students to practise critical thinking, and apply information literacy skills to their research. Students will learn to negotiate the procedures and systems used in higher education, and practise communication skills in a range of contexts.
Students who successfully complete the set of 9 micro-credentials* developed from the unit SKIL40025 Preparation Skills for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for credit transfer, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.
