Summary: 

This online micro-credential is designed to provide health professionals with knowledge in the safe support and assistance of medications for clients in the Community Care environment. The micro-credential provides you with an overview on medication forms, routes, the 'Six Rights' of medication and assistance of select medications.

Please note that this micro-credential does not provide endorsement to administer medication.

This is a non-creditable micro-credential which is awarded a digital badge and Certificate of Completion which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

Learning Outcomes: 

  1. Identify the common forms of self-administering medications and medication routes
  2. Recall the 'Six Rights' of medication and the essential parts of a drug order
  3. Identify what medication support or assistance means in the context of community care workers
  4. Describe the process of assisting safely with the client’s medication.

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge) and a Certificate of Completion.
