Micro-credential Summary:

This online, micro-credential toolkit provides participants with the knowledge, skills and tools to enhance their engagement practices when working with First Nations communities and their representatives. The micro-credential and toolkit can be applied from an individual, organisational unit and/or industry level perspective to enable participants to reflect on their partnerships with First Nations communities and promote effective organisational cultural capability and inclusive workplace cultures. Participants will learn the principles-based approach to apply the First Nations Community Engagement Framework to ensure First Nations Peoples remain at the centre of industry engagement activities. Participants will understand how to apply the First Nations Community Engagement Scale to community-based projects. The micro-credential also includes a comprehensive Toolkit of resources based on frameworks from the First Nations Community Engagement: Industry Guide Phase I to use in assessing their First Nations community engagement approaches and ensure engagement is mutually beneficial and respectful. Case studies are provided as examples of good practice and highlight the activities that help to inform effective First Nations community engagement to connect and create ideas for positive outcomes. 

This online micro-credential provides a non-creditable micro-credential and digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

      Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the micro-credential, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge) and a Certificate of Completion.
